The Bride
Jenifer was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a high school English teacher and an on-line college instructor.  She is an animal lover who enjoys reading, water sports and spending time with family and friends

The Groom
Marcus was born in Fort Worth but moved to New Jersey when he was eight.  He spent eight years in the Air Force and now works for a company that creates and manages wireless environments.  He enjoys hunting, scuba diving, and riding his Ducati motorcycle.

How They Met

We met in third grade and went all the way through school together as friends. We stayed in touch via e-mail after high school.  After Marcus moved back to Texas he asked Jenifer to come for a visit.  They started dating long distance for a year before getting engaged and Jenifer relocating to Texas.

The Proposal
Marcus proposed to Jenifer at his home in Canyon Lake when she was there for a visit for his birthday.

Wedding
We decided to get married in Fredericksburg because Marcus’ family originally settled there when they came to America from Germany.  Marcus’ family farm is a mile down the road from The Full Moon Inn.  The family farm and Fredericksburg are a frequent weekend getaway.  We love nature and wanted to get married outside under the live oak trees.  It was warm on June 6th but there was a slight breeze and we had the ceremony at 6pm so by the time the reception really got going it was dark out and cooler.  Our DJ and dancing was outside while our food and bar was inside so there was air conditioning available for people to cool off.  As it got later everyone was outside dancing or sitting enjoying the warm evening.  It was great to have the ceremony and reception all in the same place and then walk off to our honeymoon suite right on the same property.

Honeymoon
Hawaii – Oahu, Maui and Kauai.  We spent two weeks exploring three Hawaiian islands.  We wanted to have the opportunity to scuba dive and explore the beauty of Hawaii.

Comments
We had such a great day when we got over our nerves!  It was beautiful and perfect in every way.  Our vendors took such good care of us and went the extra mile to make sure our day was special.  Matt (owner of The Full Moon Inn) took special care to make sure that the grass was green and well cut for the ceremony.  We hired Jon (our DJ) at the last minute because an issue arose with our previously arranged DJ.  He was so professional and knew how to mix the music selections so that everyone was happy and dancing.  He also followed our requests perfectly.  We were so impressed with Vickie and Darryl of My Own Chef.  They are a husband/wife team that took the time to meet with us twice at the location to go over details and tweak our menu.  Their servers were helpful and professional and the food took center stage rather than the help.  Our flowers were spectacular!  The only direction we gave to Blumenhandler was no white or pink, lots of green and pops of color.  Boy did we get it!  The flowers were beautiful and delivered with plenty of time to get all those boutonnieres on before the ceremony.  Kathy Weigand Photography exceeded our expectations for our lasting wedding memories.  We loved our personal time at the family farm with Kathy and her assistants.  We were so moved at how Kathy captured our joy on our special day.

Since many of our guests came in from out of town we had blocks of rooms set aside at the La Quinta and Hampton Inn in downtown Fredericksburg.  We also created a wedding website in order to give our guests information about our wedding and ideas of things to do in Fredericksburg.  On the Sunday morning following the wedding we had a breakfast for all of our guests as a way to round out the weekend.  The breakfast was also held at The Full Moon Inn and catered by My Own Chef.
